Awesome menu, quick and friendly service, and even though it’s a cosy little place they found room for my son in a high chair which was very much appreciated!
First time visiting the Tapas Restaurant in Mount Barker. It did not disappoint. Food was amazing, service was amazing and staff were awesome. Definitely another visit here is on the cards.
I would dare say that HMBL is the best restaurant in Mt Barker, and belongs on Rundle St with other quality restaurants. The tapas are delightful in plating, size and taste. You literally can't go wrong with any item. Front of house are courteous, while the beer garden is ideal on warm night. We will be back!

Love love loved this place! It was the surprise highlight of our South Australian restaurants when we visited the state for the weekend. The vegan options were PHENOMENAL! My favourites were the Corn Ribs and the Patatas Bravas, and my husband was obsessed with Nonna's Meatballs. Our server (tall, dark curly hair) was a beautiful man and I highly recommend his customer service! 👏🏻 Thanks again for the tapas feast from two very jealous vegans (who are now back at their overpriced home in rainy Sydney).
Lovely dining experience and very friendly staff. We got only the vegan dishes which did not limit us at all! There was plenty for us to eat! The meatballs were very good but my favourites would have to be the potatoes bravas and the hummus. We got cocktails, gin and tonics, lots of share plates, and dessert for the three of us, and the total was around $160. My friends and I will definitely be coming back.
My Fiance and I checked out HMBL last night for the first time. We didn't have a booking, though they were nice enough to fit us in at a little bar styled seating area at the end of the petite venue. Everything was amazing from start to finish, from the service, the cocktails, to every dish on the 'Tease Me' menu. They were also nice enough to swap out the chicken wings for the Hummus as per request. The stand out for us was the Chicken and Chorizo Paella and could have easily eaten another serving of that one. The course left us full, satisfied and ready to book again for a bigger group of friends.
Arrived at this tiny tapas place with a severe case of hangry. We opted for the Taste Me set menu. We ordered a beer and cocktail from their EXTENSIVE list of cocktails. Drinks arrived pronto, cocktail was beautifully presented, beer was local. The food then started to arrive, hot and tasty from a kitchen that is barely bigger than a cupboard! Well done. Great dining experience from start to end.
Incredible! Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked and the portions were generous. The presentation was beautiful and the waitstaff were lovely and the cocktail i ordered was sublime. How all of that amazing food could come out of that tiny kitchen is a miracle! When the total worked out to be about $56 per person including 3 desserts and 2 alcoholic drinks we were stunned - what a bargain! I highly recommend HMBL Tapas, book ahead as it gets busy.
A perfect dinner for two here at HMBL Tapas Co. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing evening out. The service was exceptional, with our waitress being attentive and friendly. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic meal in a great setting. I’ll definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.
